As a member of National Youth Commission – YORP, we were invited to the first NYC-YORP Convention with the Theme: “Time to Shine: YORP as Vanguard for Change”, held last August 12-13 at Richmonde Hotel – Eastwood, Quezon City.

This event was organized in celebration of International Youth Day, ASEAN Day, National Youth Day, and Linggo ng Kabataan (Youth Week). The theme provided opportunities for our volunteers to convene and exchange ideas and best practices, interact and network with other youth organizations; and build awareness on the important role of youth in nation building, youth and community empowerment, implementation and fulfillment of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). They also had training on crafting advocacy plans for Philippine Youth Development Plan (PYDP) 2023-2028.

It was organized through partnerships of different organizations: United Nations- Youth Thematic Group, United Nations Population Fund, United Nations Development Programme, United Nations Children’s Fund -Philippines, Youth Co: Lab, Youth Empowerment in Climate Action Platform, and the Movers Programme.
